Closed louvres block most of it, but a shutter is not a blackout blind - a little light still comes through the gaps between the louvre and the frame. In a bedroom that is usually enough for a comfortable sleep-in. If you need genuine blackout, say so at the measure and we will talk through pairing shutters with a blockout blind behind them.

Door openings need panels that fold or track aside rather than swing, so we build them as bi-fold or sliding sets that clear the doorway completely and then close down for shade and privacy. The material depends on whether the opening gets weather.
